Holy Stone has produced the mini RC helicopter drone, the HS170 Predator A manufacturer located in China. Holy Stone produces a wide range of drones.

polycarbonate construction. This protects it against collisions and crashes (which are more likely than not). Aerodynamics and aesthetics go hand-in-hand with the Holy Stone HS170’s small footprint and smooth contours. This reduces drag and exudes a sporty vibe even while stationary.
To protect the main structure, the HS170 comes with extra safety features such as propeller guards or shock-absorbent land gear. The landing gear’s elastic nature can cause the drone to bounce off of the landing surface if it is dropped too early. This could lead to damage and possibly even death. Before you let the drone touch down, make sure it is safe.
Flying The Holy Stone HS170 Drone
The Holy Stone HS170 Drone lights up when the battery is installed in the remote control. It’s also remarkably quiet. The drone responds well to the controls. It is also easy to maneuver around the environment in its headless Mode, even for someone who has never flown one. The controls work very well and are responsive.
The 6-axis gyro stabilization system makes it possible to do stunts. It can perform some 360-degree spins and evade. Piloting the drone from “home base” to recharge is the most difficult part. The drone becomes increasingly difficult to control when the well runs dry. You should make sure to land your drone within five minutes of it taking off and then switch the batteries.
Recharging the HS170 is eaStone’sks to the removable battery. The battery will eventually wear out, but you can still order a replacement. To find the part number, refer to the manual. The wire that connects the Holy Stone HS170 Drone’s battery looks a little odd. It hangs to the side. This does not affect the drone’s performance. The battery takes approximately 30 minutes to charge, and the drone can fly for about 8 minutes. You can fly again in as little as one minute if you have additional batteries.
This product has very few features. A Headless Mode function is a useful feature that we are glad Holy Stone included.
The HS170 basically ignores its front-end orientation when in Headless mode. Instead, it repositions the pilot’s front as the drone’s front. This makes it respond to your controller inputs in a simple manner.
This is a great sight for beginners as it eliminates the awkwardness of normal flight mode’s 3D motion planes. The drone’s Headless Mode makes a loud beeping sound that sounds almost like a truck backing up. This can be fixed by moving the right joystick down and then up until the top left corner. This should stop the drone from emitting annoying sounds.
Holy Stone loaded HolHS170’s HS170 to perform 3D flips. This Mode allows the drone to flip in any direction that you point the control lever towards. It is a simple operation and makes it essentially a one-trick pony (or bird).
Keep the drone away from people and pets. Give it a distance of approximately 2 meters for tricks.
One Key Return
The One Key Return function on the HS170 allows you to retrieve the drone or recall it in the event of a low battery. This function works slightly differently from the return functions we are used to.
The HS170 locks its position based on where the remote and drone were paired. This is in contrast to GPS-assisted return features or transmitter sHS170’sased return functions. The drone does not follow the transmitter’s signals and instead uses the last known pairing location.
The dirt-cheapHS170 price is a sign that it does not (or could never) fit an optics unit. Photography and First Person View are not likely to be a success due to the limited range and flight time.
It looks good and fits comfortably in your hand. The buttons are easy to reach. You might be surprised to discover that the buttons are not clearly labeled on the remote control when it is removed from its box. Except for the power switch, there is no indication on the buttons. The manual will help you identify which one is which.
The remote control features two stick-like buttons, which allow the user to control both the height and direction. Despite the fact that the remote control’s face is blank, its response time is exceptional.
You can also select a headless mode by pressing down and holding the button. It will activate automatically. An annoying beeping sound will alert you that the headless Mode has been activated. It also has a fun trick button that, when pressed, will cause the drone to do a backflip or front flip. This is a great option for kids.
You can adjust the flight’s stability by using the trimming buttons. You can turn the drone’s lights on or off by pressing a button. This makes it possible to fly in darkness. Although the return home button works well, sometimes the drone crashes into things or stays put. To get the best performance, the drone responds better to high and low settings. Although the remote control is easy to use, it can sometimes be frustrating that there are no labels.

Easy To Use
For a drone this size, the Holy Stone HS170’s controller is cumbersome. The drone is powered by 6 AA batteries and does not have a rechargeability function. The layout is typical of a dual joystick layout, and it’s packed with trim controls and function buttons. It was disappointing that Holy Stone did not properly label these function buttons.
HS170 drone is quite responsive for a low price. It can take your inputs in real-time and bIt’s them to life in real-time. However, be aware that signal quality may decrease as you fly in interference-congested areas or near the 50-meter range limit.
The 6-axis gyroscopic system is more than enough to compensate for the Holy Stone HS170’s lack of positional stability. It doubles the instantaneous orientation reflex and maintains a stable flight performance.
Three-speed modes are available on the Holy Stone HS170, which affect the pitch (dive/climb) as well as the yaw (side-side) sensitivity. It defaults to the lowest setting, which limits the speed and other control factors. Higher settings give you more control over the drone, making them a more appealing choice for people with more experience.

The quadcopter comes with a sturdy remote controller. The remote control is large and feels almost like a gamepad. You don’t feel any strain when the transmitter works well. All buttons are in the right places, and the pressure is minimal. Other than ON/OFF, the buttons are uninscribed. Before you begin to play with the buttons, I recommend that you read through the manual.
It Compares To The DJI Phantom Series.
A Phantom series drone is like an old Cadillac. It’s designed to be stable and smooth, which ensures good video. The HS170 mini RC helicopter drone, however, is more like a rally vehicle, testing pilot skill and daring with each turn, obstacle, and gust of wind.
The drone is an excellent value and performs well. Although there are some issues, the drone is overall a winner. It’s easy to use, it flies well, and can be used by kids without any problems. Although the drone looks small, it is quite robust and responsive. It is capable of handling bumps, falls, and crashes. It is also a lot of fun to fly.
